To The Daily Sun,

The Moultonborough School District has recently removed The Black Lives Matter Instructional Library advertisement and their reading list from their web site. Change management is tricky business in all institutions. To change attitudes and behaviors an explanation is necessary. That explanation to teachers and other school personnel is necessary now. Below is a recommended policy statement for Moultonborough to facilitate this explanation:

Why we should not advertise for Black Lives Matter? Black Lives Matter (BLM) is founded by Marxist individuals Alicia Garza, (chief strategic advisor), Patrisse Cullors (top advisor), and Opal Tometi, all from Los Angeles. They have publicly explained that they and their staff are Marxist and “Marxist trained.” Although many deceived and well-intended individuals believed BLM was a civil rights organization, their publicly asserted goals are actually quite distinct from civil rights efforts and inconsistent with the non-violent doctrine of Martin Luther King. The self-asserted goals of BLM and Marxism overall include the destruction of capitalism world-wide, the destruction of the United States, and the destruction of the nuclear family.

The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) has determined that 95 percent of this summer’s riots were linked to BLM activism. Many peaceful protests were infiltrated by BLM operatives bent on violence. Our country has sustained two billion dollars in criminal damage, most to small minority owned businesses, an incalculable number of injuries, and is still experiencing the murdering of police officers — an activity repeatedly encouraged by BLM. Their political goals, accomplished through criminal violence are unethical, illegal, inconsistent with our school values and disengaged from any legitimate pedological goals of our educational system. Their rhetoric will not be supported on our website, curriculum or curriculum related materials or classroom discussion.

The allied reading list has been removed from our website. A policy for the selection of books on our website’s recommended reading list consistent with pedological goals is being created. Our reading list will not be employed to promote the sale of books that endorse a single political view lauded as “Black Lives Matter Instructional Materials.” Books that subscribe to variants of unscientific “critical race theory,” that promote notions of inherited White guilt, and inherited Black victimization, are malignant political notions that should not be taught as though they are historical facts. Conversely, our school values promote the beliefs of Martin Luther King: that individuals should be “judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.”

The Moultonborough School Board and Superintendent Andrew have been notified that they may use this accurate explanation for teachers and other school employees. The question now is, will they candidly explain to teachers and school employees why they have decided upon this policy reversal? The citizens of Moultonborough desire that the School Board employ the necessary efforts to ensure that the culture in Moultonborough Schools remains consistent with their our long held community and school values.
