To The Daily Sun,

Laconia Bike Week is wonderful, but it should not happen this year. People will come from other states with high rates of COVID-19 and unknowingly spread it to New Hampshire. The same goes for NASCAR races and other beloved N.H .events — we love them but we just can’t afford to do them this year. We need to keep the rate of COVID-19 low so we can open up schools.

Look at what has happened in other states when they opened up too fast. We have achieved a lot in reducing COVID-19 in N.H. — why blow it now?

Opening up the large tourist events too early has dire consequences — let’s just hold off until we have a vaccine.
