Why did members join the Democrat Party? It used to champion tolerance and civil discourse. Back then the worst thing someone could say about a candidate was they’re a flip-flopper. Those days are gone. Now their candidates are on social media promising the systematic imprisonment of political opponents.
Work a day Democrats, if there still are such voters, maintain their silence. Their party’s candidates openly fantasize about destroying the lives of everyday Americans who dare to wear a red hat or attend church on Sunday. They’re very open about it.
Take Samuel Smeltzer, a 36-year-old information technology contractor calling himself Elyon Badger. He dresses up in an anthropomorphic “furry” costume. His positions include: Stating “America deserved 9/11.” He calls Jesus “a communist.” He recommends killing billionaires. He labels Israel “an enemy of the United States.” He advocates the imprisonment of all U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Mr. Smeltzer repeatedly celebrated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination; calling him a “massive loser.”
Smeltzer’s website promises “compassionate leadership for a just future.” Smeltzer recently posted “round up EVER [sic] SINGLE red hat wearing MAGA and put them in hard labor camps for the rest of their lives.” This is a real Democrat, an actual Congressional candidate.
Mr. Samuel Smeltzer is a Democrat candidate for Michigan’s 7th congressional district. This self-described socialist doesn’t just oppose conservative values. He celebrates violence against those who hold them e.g. Charlie Kirk and anyone with a red hat. He’s not joking.
He’s the face of the Democrat Party and he’s not alone. In Maine there’s Graham Platner, running for Senate with enthusiastic support from Bernie Sanders. He has a Nazi SS tattoo. Only 38% of Democrats think it’s always unacceptable to feel joy about the death of a political opponent. Is this why members became a Democrat?
