Marc Abear: America is broken; people need to stop being sheeple

Americans have become too intimidated by degrees. We don’t value wisdom. We bow before the false gods of titles and jargon. We have forgotten how to do our own research. We have stopped trusting our own common sense. It’s time to stop being sheeple and return to where political parties serve us.

Why does God tell us to love our neighbors as ourselves? He gave us free will, told us to love life. He knows we must take care of our own life first. Why?

Well, because we can do nothing for others until we have taken responsibility for ourselves first. We cannot give to others until we have created a surplus to give from. This stuff isn’t hard to understand. It is very hard to do. It means we all must embrace self-discipline.

America is the greatest egalitarian project ever in the history of the world. We have helped raise the living standard of more people, in more places and done it in a shorter period of time than has ever happened ... ever.

Those mewling about the warmth of collectivism are sirens’ songs. They call us onto the rocks of economic disaster. We know this as surely as “the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.” There has never been a successful socialist utopia anywhere in the world ever ... for a reason: Socialism equals tyranny.

What is going on in America today is: We have leadership taking personal responsibility for rebuilding our economic independence. For too long, we have embraced policies shipping our wealth and our jobs overseas.

America is broke. It is worse than broke; it is over $38 trillion in debt. Debt service is the biggest part of our budget. What are readers going to do to fix their part of the world?
