Per the letter from John Lewis on Aug. 9. I'm not sure what the political bend of the creator of tinyurl is, but tinyurl itself is just a tool that allows others to minimize a URL to a more easily readable format that can be used in media where there is a limitation on total characters. There are multiple companies like this available to use, another popular one is Bitly.
Tinyurl itself is not a content provider.
