Jon Paul: NH ICE facility is proof elections have dire consequences

Gov. Kelly Ayotte has a bit more than egg on her face after the ICE facility debacle in Merrimack. She has shown complete incompetence and inability to lead on this matter.

The governor, who once was a Donald Trump critic, now appears to have drank the MAGA Kool-Aid. The political consequences of this failure will likely ensure that she is a one term governor. Also, is the state going to reimburse the town of Merrimack for the extra demand on water/sewer use, decreased property values, increased use of first responders and security concerns for nearby residents because of this concentration camp? Shame on her and anyone else who supports this federal government over-reach.

The truth of the matter is that this facility will be built, like it or not. It’s a good reminder that elections have consequences. Well, at least people in “Oklahoma” will reap all the benefits of this cruel prison. And if people think that illegal immigrants are the only ones that are going to be held there, they are naïve. Its plausible that any political dissident of Trump will be sleeping on cement floors in cages there, especially since we no longer have a Constitution to protect folks.

The incompetence is mind boggling and frightening. Time to move to Canada.
