John Browne: Republican policies in Washington, DC, harm New Hampshire

Drop in Canadian Tourism - 30%: Is there no greater example of how our president and the Republican Party is failing our country and specially the people of New Hampshire than the drop in the number of Canadians visiting our state? The excellent article makes very clear why Canadians are staying away: tariffs, silly talk about annexing Canada, and questionable practices by our immigration agents both at the border and in our local streets. All driven by Republican policies in Washington, D.C.

And where is our governor and staff going to address these problems? Oh — off to Canada they must go. It seems like another political boondoggle to me. What does she hope to accomplish? She has no power over tariffs or immigration, and will she assure Canadians she will not send the National Guard to conquer Canada?

The problem is in Washington. Better spend our NH tax dollars knocking on doors in D.C., and raising the alarm of their failed policies. And the governor better spend her time addressing the problems of homelessness and housing in our state where she was elected.
