Wednesday, Jan. 22, is the 52nd anniversary of the passage of Roe v Wade, the decision to legalize abortion in the United States. This law has since been overturned, and decisions on abortions are now made by individual states. On Jan. 22 this year, church bells will ring at noon, including from Sacred Heart Church, Laconia. Many churches in the Lakes Region may also be ringing bells starting at noon. The bell ringing is in loving memory of millions of pre-born babies lost to abortions in the U.S.
