To The Daily Sun,

Once again, the town board members are using a highly polished sales marketing plan to get what they want and they use their large social network to get it, unless taxpayers put a stop to it.

I have read that this is a no-brainer, or in my expert opinion, a lack of brains. Just like when they purchased the Lions Club that needed a lot of maintenance. As a past president of the Lions Club, I knew the problems and did some of the repairs myself. I am a retired general contractor and builder with multi-million-dollar project experience. I have done work for the federal government at Portsmouth Navy Shipyard, Fox Run Mall in Newington, and numerous other projects including a 9,000 square foot home on Granny Hill in town, and other homes.

I want to thank the following people for their outstanding display of common sense concerning this purchase: Mark Borrin, Josh Bartlett and Jonathan Tolman. These gentlemen covered a lot of areas that I was going to include in my letter, but that is OK. I will focus on the present Town Hall.

When I go to the Town Hall, I see more cars parked at the library than at the Town Hall. We don’t need 145 parking spaces. When there, three people were ahead of me at the town clerk’s office. I learned the area is not adequate for their needs. I said that an addition could be built to fix that problem and others for a lot less than $3-5 million. The selectboard has failed to maintain the buildings we have now and they want to purchase a new building.

This is a bad idea, and we will pay for it later. Vote no at town meeting on March 14.
