To The Daily Sun,
I would like to add my disappointment that the Elm Street project has been allowed to change the designated housing units from rental apartments to condominiums. What a tragedy. This misses the whole point of making affordable housing for the residents of Laconia and Lakeport.
I am thrilled the redevelopment has given the town, and Lakeport especially, a new facelift, has brought us more venues, retail space and new housing. But we don’t need condominiums, we need affordable housing on a monthly basis. I’m almost devastated this choice was made. We won’t have affordable housing among the new and fresh look in Lakeport. What a shame.
