Cornelia Schneider: Harris earned endorsement of national security leaders

Wow. I’m totally gobsmacked. Recently, 741 national security leaders endorsed Kamala Harris. These are not insignificant characters. These are no wannabe famous types. These are some of the biggest names in the field of national security. Retired generals and admirals, senior noncommissioned officers, ambassadors and national security leaders who served under both Democratic and Republican administrations.

They wrote, “This election is a choice between serious leadership and vengeful impulsiveness. It is a choice between democracy and authoritarianism. Vice President Harris defends America’s democratic ideals, while former President Donald Trump endangers them. We do not make such an assessment lightly. We are trained to make sober, rational decisions. That is how we know Vice President Harris would make an excellent Commander-in-Chief, while Mr. Trump has proven he is not up to the job.”

I have voted for and supported Democrats, Republicans and independents in my longish life, and I’ve never seen a written declaration as powerful at this. I’m gobsmacked, and to speak frankly, I believe anyone who cares one iota about our national security, yet still considers voting for Trump should have their head examined.
