Catharine Farkas: Supporting Maura Sullivan for Congressional District 1

I strongly support Maura Sullivan and am voting for her as the Democratic candidate for Congressional District 1 in the Sept. 8 Primary. While I've gotten to know and really like many of the other candidates in the race, I believe that Maura is our best choice for changing things up in Washington and being a strong advocate for all Granite Staters.

I have supported Maura Sullivan since she first ran for this office in 2018. I was drawn by her clarity, compassion, and inner strength. Although she was a relative newcomer to New Hampshire, she vaulted way ahead of the nine other better-known candidates to finish a strong second to the winner, Chris Pappas.

What I have really appreciated about Maura since then, and what compels me to continue to support her, is that she didn’t just fade into the background after a loss, like most candidates do. She continued to work hard and has become an incredibly reliable member of our community ever since, whether volunteering in various roles with our state party or serving on Congressman Chris Pappas’s Veterans Advisory Committee.

She has traveled all across the state and listened to our needs and concerns. She has consistently shown up for our shared values. She’s a fierce fighter and principled public servant. She’s earned my vote, and I hope she’ll earn readers' too.
