To The Daily Sun,

Chatting with many of the electric utilities customers in my area it's apparent that the Public Utilities Commissioners gave away the house when they recently approved some outrageous rate increases to the utility companies. Some have mentioned that their bill has doubled.

What is interesting is that Gov. Chris Sununu and his Republican-dominated governors councilors appointed all three commissioners in the November-December 2021 time frame and within a seven month time frame they approved the rate increases. What a coincidence? I don't think so, it looks like Sununu wanted to make the utility companies happy and I wonder if they are big contributors to his reelection fund? What in the PUC's analysis convinced them that in most instances the customers' monthly bill increase by 100% would be fair?

The three commissioners who approved the new electric rates are Daniel Goldner, Pradip Chattopadhyay and Carleton Simpson. Send them a thank you note and remember on Election Day to thank the Republicans for the rate increase.

In NH most of our power is generated by natural gas which has tripled in price since last year.
