My name is Ben Brookmyer, I am running for state representative of Meredith, District 2. Lifelong Democrat, age 32, carpenter and father. I have lived in the Lakes Region for over 20 years, graduating from Inter-Lakes High School and Plymouth State University.
My No. 1 priority if elected is to represent the people of my district. When I was asked to run for office by the Democratic Party, the opportunity to make a positive impact and bring new life to local politics compelled my acquiescence. This my first time running for office.
Issues that I will stand on are as follows: the expansion of environmental conservation, the protection of the civil rights set forth in the Constitution, education reform, and affordable housing.
I am not afraid to stand up to Republican kleptocracy.
As an operator of a small carpentry business in New Hampshire I am acutely aware of the local housing economy, and will be happy to lend my insight on the inner workings of making affordable housing a reality.
