Barbara Koehler: CruCon purchase a no-brainer for Moultonborough voters

If taxpayers haven't yet read the actual proposal and facts surrounding the purchase of the CruCon Building, then I strongly request they do.

Many comments I've seen indicate a lack of the facts; for instance:

• No increase in taxes;
• Expansion on current Town Hall expense avoided;
• Three buildings that can be sold to save taxpayers money;
• More convenience for visitors to CruCon; and 
• No additional traffic problems. 

As to my last two points; most people pass by CruCon now several times a week on their way to the grocery and hardware stores, restaurants in Center Harbor, Meredith, etc., as well as appointments. So now people can simply stop on their way to do the 15 minutes of business we have a couple times a year at the Town Hall.

Please check out this link and see all this building will provide, and then please show up to vote at the Town Meeting. I'm sure this will be first Warrant article on the town's session, so citizens can vote early and leave (moultonboroughnh.gov/DocumentCenter/View/4118/Crucon-Updated-Presentation-12226) 

Each of us has an obligation to take part in our town's future. The Selectboard have spent an enormous amount of time researching this, are recommending it pass, and are allowing us to decide instead of going ahead and buying the building. Please show up and vote: Saturday, March 14, at Moultonborough Academy, 25 Blake Road, immediately following the Annual School District Meeting beginning at 9 a.m.
