To the editor,

I should like to correct a few comments made by Mr. Jack Stephenson in his letter to me of 2/5/10. First he assumes (and we all know the danger in that) that I am Roman Catholic by faith. No, but thank you for the compliment. Some on the nicest people I know are RCs. I’ll preface my second remark by first mentioning that which is taught to every school child, “The first person in a debate to start the name calling is always the loser.” He calls me a “homophobe.” My letter was sufficiently offensive to anyone who disobeys God’s Word, whether they be pedophiles, tax cheats or even nudists (remember that God Himself made clothes for Adam and Eve to cover their nakedness). Based on what then, does he make that comment? What is obvious is that Mr. Stephenson cannot tolerate the truth about God and, as a result, is a Theophobe (God-fearer) and I would toss in xenophobe, for obviously he has no knowledge of God, except for the one of his own making. Rather than submit to God’s clear teachings, he searches the earth for vain philosophies that won’t condemn him. As for Urantia, its obscurity is only surpassed by Mr. Stephenson’s ignorance of Christian theology. On the other hand the Judeo/Christian Bible is a compilation of 66 books, by over 40 authors, written over more than 2000 years, in complete harmony with each other, with archeological verification, with scientific corroboration and it was canonized.

As for “ALL of the HATE and evil in the old testament,” Mr. Stephenson betrays his ignorance of God when he misses the fact that both the Old and New Testament are written, not to condemn people and spew hatred, like he does, but rather they are written to show rebellious and defiant humans God’s infinite love for them, and the lengths He is prepared to go to bring them back into His fold. And if anyone thinks they can live their life disregarding the Father’s words and get a pass from Jesus, remember He sits on the judgment throne and judges every soul by the words of His Father, NOT some slick philosopher or accommodating preacher. He is not the spineless wimp that God-haters make Him out to be. Remember, He cleared the temple of money changers with a cord of whips (twice) and He is the one who said, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34). I’ll say it again, God loves His creation, but cannot accept those who seek to come to Him by any means other than the ONE He has provided for, His OWN Son’s sacrificial work on the Cross for the sins of the WORLD.

You really don’t get it, do you Jack? STOP deceiving yourself and others into thinking there isn’t a Hell to shun and a Heaven to gain. Jesus preached about Hell more than almost any other topic. I caution you, God will judge you all the more severely for the lies that YOU promote. Like the false prophets of old, who only told the Jewish kings things that pleased them, you fabricate myths about God to appease your own guilty conscience and then poison others with them.

PS: I am not an anything-phobe for I fear not the sinner lost in his sin. However I do fear FOR them, and Mr. Stephenson, I fear for you. Repent Mr. Stephenson, for your judgment day is coming.
