To the editor,

Every so often, things happen that reaffirm one’s faith in humanity. Last Wednesday night, the Franklin/Tilton Area Community Table Fund held a fundraising dinner at the Tilt’n Diner, and it was an overwhelming success. The event raised or received commitments for $1,370 in much needed donations. What a night.

The Community Table Fund is a cooperative effort of four faith-based communities to fill the gap when public or private resources are unable to assist families in crisis. We are the agency of last resort for families who are in financial distress, facing eviction and relocation that may result in children being uprooted from their homes and schools.

The Community Table fund would like to thank the management and staff of the Tilt’n Diner for their wonderful support, fantastic spaghetti sauce and service. We would also like to thank the community and all of those who participated in the event with their generous donations and fellowship.

We must also remind the community that the need is ongoing, and that this winter and upcoming year will certainly continue to strain the financial resources of the fund, and that the continuance of this effort will depend upon the future generosity, good will and support of local citizens, businesses, and organizations who recognize the importance of investing in the stability of less fortunate families.

The donations and volunteer contact (no service requests please) is: Community Table Fund, P. O. Box 390, Franklin, NH 03235 0390 — e-mail: mrlynldw@gmail.com.

Thank you all.
