DANVILLE — An early-morning bomb threat made to the Danville Elementary School on Monday was deemed not credible by police after a thorough investigation.

Around 8:30 a.m., the Danville Police Department received a call from the school reporting that a voicemail left on the school’s main line Saturday evening posed a threat to the school, police said. The message stated there were “five bombs” placed and that the caller had a “suicide vest” and an “AR-15.”

The message was discovered at the beginning of the school day Monday.

Danville police responded to the school to investigate the incident and deemed it not credible.

However, out of an abundance of caution, the police department requested the assistance of the New Hampshire State Police. Two K9 units of the Bomb Squad swept the school and did not find a threat.

Danville Elementary School is part of the Timberlane Regional School District.

Students were instructed to remain in their classrooms during the search of the school with instruction continuing uninterrupted, Superintendent Justin Krieger said in a statement.

Danville school administration will continue to work with local and state police as they continue their investigation.
