A 23-year-old Meredith man is being held at the Belknap County Jail in lieu of $100,000 after a Friday night altercation with his girlfriend left him charged with felony "criminal threatening with a deadly weapon".

Patrick Huston surrendered to arrest at 11:37 p.m., after police surrounded his home at 266 NH Rte. 25 and made contact with him via a loud-speaker. No one was injured during the incident.

According to a police report, Kate Kilroy, 19, called 911 from a bathroom in Huston's home and reported that while she and her boyfriend argued, he pointed a weapon at her and threatened her with it. Kilroy is said to have barricaded herself in the bathroom to make the 911 call and Huston allegedly slammed his fist through the bathroom door.

When Officer Gregory Mangers arrived on the scene at about 10:10 p.m. he found Kilroy in front of the residence and there was no sign of Huston.

With assistance from the Moultonborough and Center Harbor police departments and the NH State Police, Meredith officers secured a perimeter around Huston's home and attempted to contact him by telephone. The phone calls went unanswered but Lt. Keith True was eventually able to speak with Huston via public address radio.
