Kayode Mason, an electrician for Eversource, used a switch stick to re-energize a circuit breaker after performing maintenance Tuesday afternoon at the electrical substation on Messer Street. The disconnects are turned off during circuit maintenance and must be re-energized afterward. Eversource staff perform circuit breaker maintenance every six years. Mason said electrical work often goes unnoticed, and is done without any disruptions. He compared his work to that of agents in the movie "Men in Black." “We go take care of keeping tens and hundreds of thousands of people from losing power, and nobody ever knows anything happened."
