LACONIA — Gunstock Area Commissioners Doug Lambert and Jade Wood presented Belknap County with a check for $320,285 at the county commission meeting Monday evening. State law outlines that “1.75% of yearly gross operating income shall be turned over to the Belknap county treasurer within 45 days of the receipt and approval of the annual audit.” Last year, Gunstock paid the county about $220,000.
This year’s audit was delayed by the disruptions of the summer: normally presented in July, this year’s audit findings were presented to the GAC in October.
Lambert and Wood commended Gunstock staff for the mountain’s ongoing financial success and thanked the county for its support of the commission. Peter Spanos, county commission chair, commended Lambert and Wood for their efforts guiding the mountain through a turbulent summer.
