Thirty-seven Gilford High School students were honored as New Hampshire Scholars at a luncheon in the school's library on May 29. Gilford High has been a scholar school since 2008. Since then, over 500 students have graduated from Gilford High as NH Scholars. "It's very exciting," Audra Warre, assistant to the principal, said. "This is a very smart and competitive class." NH Scholars is a partnership between the New Hampshire College and University Council, Campus Compact for New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Department of Education. The program promotes collaboration between educators, policy makers, and business and industry leaders to encourage students to take a more rigorous core course of study in high school.
