Martin Reilly, 10, and his father Jacob Reilly explored along the Winnipesaukee River on Court Street in Laconia on Tuesday morning, after the water level was lowered according to the state fall drawdown schedule. Dams lower the water levels in the fall up to two feet below summer levels to help control high spring runoff that occurs from snowmelt and rainfall. The lowered water levels also allow lakeside residents to perform dock maintenance before winter.
