Gilford Deputy Police Chief Dustin Parent and his father Rich Daley retrieved his new 2025 Volkswagen Jetta at Nucar of Tilton on Monday afternoon. Parent won the car during the Laconia Country Club annual member-guest tournament. Nucar sponsored the hole-in-one prize for the seventh hole. Country club members were invited to bring one guest each to the tournament, a three-day event where foursomes play five, nine-hole matches against other teams. Parent said it was 170 yards to the pin, and with a seven iron, hit what he said was the best shot of his life. He was thinking about his stepdaughter Madi when making the shot. “We were discussing how my stepdaughter’s in drivers ed currently, and how great it would be for her to have a car like this one.”
