BRISTOL — With Bristol Police Officer Eli Schaffner graduating from the 176th session of the New Hampshire Police Academy and the hiring of a new officer, Brian Beach, the Bristol Police Department now has its full complement of nine full-time and two part-time police officers.

Schaffner attended 16 weeks of intense “boot camp” police training and, upon graduation became a certified full-time officer.

“The Bristol Police Department is fortunate to have attracted these officers," said Police Chief Jim Mcintire. "It is a common and difficult challenge for cities and towns across the state and the country to attract and retain qualified people with the right character traits to perform in this profession. We are very pleased to have both of them on board and are equally happy to finally enjoy being fully staffed.”

Beach is a Texas native who moved to New Hampshire at the age of 13. He enlisted in the United States Marines Corps after high school graduation and served three tours of duty in Iraq, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.

He began his career in law enforcement in 2012, and graduated from the 160th session of the police academy. He comes to Bristol from the Northfield Police Department where he served as a field training officer and spent time as a detective.

Beach attended Southern New Hampshire University and graduated with a master's degree in Business Administration, focusing on Public Administration.
