BELMONT — A local man faces charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated, disobeying an officer, and reckless operation after being clocked traveling 85 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 140 and then, allegedly, leading police on a chase.
Patrick T. McMenaman, 28, of 28 Middle Route, Belmont, refused to stop for the police officer, who then called ahead for assistance, according to Lt. Richard Mann. A Gilmanton officer was nearby and took up the chase, and he saw McMenaman turn into a driveway. McMenaman subsequently failed a field sobriety test, leading to his arrest on Aug. 26.
