With more business activity in Lakeport Square, the city has restricted three parking spaces along Union Avenue to 15 minutes. The change was approved by the City Council recently. The short-term parking was authorized to accommodate those need to go briefly to the offices of The Laconia Daily Sun or Wayfarer Coffee Roasters coffee bar, which are located in the restored Lakeport Opera House, or the Chaos and Kindness store, located next door.
