CONCORD — A Plymouth resident was sentenced to eight years in federal prison for distributing large amounts of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan wrote in a media release Wednesday.
Jessica Olena, 48, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Samatha D. Elliott to eight years in prison, and four years of supervised release, for distributing over 7 pounds of methamphetamine.
Olena previously pleaded guilty to two counts of selling meth.
“Today’s sentence reflects the serious threat posed by those who deal in dangerous drugs like methamphetamine,” Creegan wrote in the release. “This defendant was distributing large quantities of this highly potent substance. Our office will continue supporting our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in drug interdiction efforts to prevent illicit drugs from reaching our streets, and to hold accountable those who seek to profit from poisoning New Hampshire communities.”
Between January and June 2024, a confidential source, apparently acting at the direction of law enforcement officers, arranged to purchase more than 1.5 pounds of meth from Olena. When officers arrested her on June 26, 2024, she admitted to selling 1 pound of methamphetamine to another people the previous night, and also to regularly buying large quantities of meth in order to deal it.
The Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation.
“DEA stands committed to keeping highly addictive drugs like methamphetamine off the streets of New Hampshire,” DEA Special Agent in Charge Jarod Forget, of the New England Field Division, wrote in the release. “Today’s sentence not only holds Ms. Olena accountable for her crimes but serves as a warning to those traffickers who are contributing to the drug crisis. This investigation demonstrates the strength of collaborative law enforcement efforts and our strong partnership with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Hampshire."
The New Hampshire State Police Mobile Enforcement Team provided assistance to the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cesar Vega and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather Anderson prosecuted the case.
