GILFORD — A Farmington man died Tuesday morning while making a lumber delivery at Gilford Home Center.

The Gilford Police Department has not yet released the man's identity pending contact with next of kin, but said he worked for CMF Transportation in Conway.

It appears that during the delivery process, the driver was killed by falling lumber. Prior to the medical examiner's arrival to the scene, Gilford Lt. Adam VanSteensburg said there didn't appear to be a criminal element to the incident. Both the Gilford police and fire departments initially responded to the call. According to VanSteenserbug, OSHA also responded to the scene.

"This is an absolute tragic accident, and our thoughts are with the driver's family as well as the employees of Gilford Home Center," VanSteensburg wrote in a message on behalf of the department.

The Home Center remained closed for the rest of Tuesday.
