What has been said about Task Season 2?

HBO
Task is among HBO’s top three fastest-growing debut seasons, making it a major success. HBO’s Programming EVP and Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, Francesca Orsi, shared in a statement, “We knew well in advance of its launch that we had a powerful drama series on our hands, but it has been so rewarding to witness the audience’s fervor and embrace of this show as it grew week after week. Rarely does a writer balance humanistic storytelling with intricate, explosive plotting, but Brad Ingelsby is one of our industry’s greats, and we have no doubt he will strike as profoundly and addictively once again in Season 2.”
Ingelsby, who also helmed HBO’s other hit series Mare of Easttown, said, “We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have HBO’s unwavering support of Task from the very first script onwards, throughout production, and during their extraordinary launch of our first season to audiences. They are an unmatched creative home. On behalf of the entire Task team, in front of and behind the camera, I am honored and excited to get back to work on a second season of our show.”
Who stars in Task Season 2?
While HBO didn’t reveal Season 2’s full cast, Bloys did confirm Ruffalo’s return as FBI agent Tom Brandis. He starred in Season 1 alongside Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton. Stay tuned for further details about Season 2’s official casting announcements at a later date as we await final word.

Season 1 concluded with Tom helping to uproot corruption within the Task Force and helping free Robbie’s family from the clutches of a vindictive biker gang. Where Season 2 will take viewers remains to be seen, but keep an eye out for more details in the months ahead.
