Chad Powers Season 1 may have ended in 2025, but filming has already wrapped on Season 2, according to showrunner Michael Waldron, who offered an exciting update about the show’s progress, hinting at the return of the Glen Powell-led Hulu comedy. Additionally, the streamer has already unveiled a first look at Powell’s titular character back in action.
Powell reprises his role as disgraced footballer Russ Holliday, a.k.a. Chad Powers, for another shot at glory. As fans saw, the series left its titular character’s fate in limbo after [Spoiler] Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) uncovered his true identity. While the cast had expressed hope for the show’s future (after all, six episodes isn’t nearly enough), Season 2’s renewal surely thrilled the team behind this comedy as well as its fans. What has been said about Chad Powers Season 2?
Series co-creator and showrunner Michael Waldron hinted that Season 2 ideas already existed when TV Insider caught up with him. “We’ve got a lot of ideas about where to take it, and how it will all wrap up, so hopefully we get to take the story the whole way,” Waldron teases. “I hope audiences will respond, and we’ll get to see where it all goes.”

Chad Powers has officially wrapped Season 2 filming, according to Waldron, who posted to his Instagram Story. The showrunner shared an image of feet on bleachers with the caption “That’s a wrap.” He also put the song, “This Year’s Love” by David Gray, over the image. What that may mean is for fans to decode as we await the arrival of Season 2 episodes. The wrap comes only a couple of months after the show’s official account teased that production had started, meaning there was a quick turnaround time.
