The delightful antics of the Belcher family will continue for yet another season as the sun sets on Season 16. However, fans will have to wait just a smidge longer for their favorite family of burger-flipping oddballs to return.
For the first time in 14 years, Bob’s Burgers will be held until midseason to make its season premiere. Now, the two-time Emmy-winning toon will make its season premiere right alongside American Dad!, Family Guy, and Krapopolis.

When will Bob’s Burgers Season 17 premiere?
Bob’s Burgers Season 17 is set to premiere early in 2027 rather than the traditional fall 2026 lineup.
Bob’s Burgers Season 16 took a four-month hiatus in 2026, with the show going on break after its midseason finale on December 28, 2025, and returning with new episodes on April 26, 2026. The extended hiatus was caused by scheduling bottlenecks at Fox and left only five episodes for the spring portion of the season. To avoid another lengthy gap that leaves fans impatiently waiting for their beloved Louise and the rest of the Belcher family to return, the new season will feature a midseason premiere.
The last time it made a midseason premiere was in 2012 with Season 2 Episode 1 “The Belchies.”

Indeed. Bob’s Burgers has two more seasons after Season 17, taking it up to Season 19, in the 2028-2029 schedule.
“This historic four-season order from our longtime partners at Fox is truly monumental for these iconic animated series,” 20th Television head Marci Proietto said in a statement at the time of the announcement. “We are so proud that these legendary shows will continue for hundreds of more episodes, allowing new and longstanding fans to watch, rewatch, and experience more of The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and Bob’s Burgers for years to come.”
