TILTON — The Winnisquam baseball team nearly stole its second win of the season on Thursday, but Raymond was able to hold on for a 7-6 victory. The game hinged on a five-run fourth inning for Raymond.
Belmont's offense was led by Brendon Vaughn, who went 3 for 5 with two runs; and Mikey Lowrey, who reached base four times, hit a double and drove in two runs.
"I like the way we battled back. We gave ourselves a chance to win the game and that's all any coach could ask for," said Winnisquam Coach Frank Caruso. Winnisquam is scheduled to visit Conant on Monday.
