Sachems thump Franklin to end losing streak

LACONIA — The Sachems ended a four-game losing streak Tuesday night with a resounding 74-37 home court win over Franklin (1-12).

The win came after a 76-50 loss at Berlin Monday night.

The Sachems are now 6-7 on the season and play at Conant Friday night.

Belmont 50, Prospect Mountain 47

The Raiders moved to 8-4 on the season with their win over Prospect Mountain (3-10) Tuesday night.

They play at Monadnock (10-4) Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Gilford 58, Winnisquam 40

The Golden Eagles are 10-4 on the season after a convincing win over Winnisquam (5-10). They play at Mascoma Valley Friday.

Winnisquam was playing games on consecutive nights after having downed Franklin, 47-31, Monday night.

St. Thomas 62, Inter-Lakes 51

The Lakers fell to 9-4 on the season with a home court loss to St. Thomas (7-6).

They play at winless Newfound (0-13) on Friday night.

Newfound lost, 66-32, at Berlin Tuesday night.

 

Girls’ Basketball

Gilford 70, Winnisquam 31

The Golden Eagles won their 13th straight game Tuesday night and are now 13-2 for the season.

Shelby Cole led the Golden Eagles with 29 points, including seven three-pointers, which set a new school record. Brooke Beaudet had 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Hannah Perkins had 11 points, five assists and nine rebounds.

Gilford plays host to Mascoma on Friday at 6 p.m.

Newfound 56, Berlin 46

The Bears stand at 14-2 atop the Division III standings after their win over Berlin (3-12) Tuesday night.

Ashlee Dukette had 23 points and 13 rebounds. Jasmine Peterson scored 19 points and had nine rebounds and six assists.

Belmont 45, Prospect Mountain 41

The Raiders moved to 6-8 on the season with a win Tuesday night over Prospect Mountain (10-4).

They will play host to Mondanock on Friday at 6 p.m.

St. Thomas 60, Inter-Lakes 43

The Lakers lost their third straight game and are now 10-6 for the season. They will play host to Winnisquam on Friday night.
