BELMONT — William "Bill" Saunders, 79, of Brown Hill Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 30, 2024, after passing away at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.
Bill was born on Jan. 28, 1945, in Laconia, the son of Warren and Josephine C. (Kakaszki) Saunders.
Bill grew up in the Moultonborough/Center Harbor area and honorably served in the United States Army. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Belknap County Nursing Home and House of Corrections and as the facilities engineer at the Tilton Prep School and NHTI in Concord.
Bill enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking, especially with his sons. He loved his family, people, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bill was loving and generous and would do anything for a friend or neighbor. He meant so much to so many.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda (Dow) Saunders; sons Wayne T. Saunders and his wife Lorie of Stark, and Aaron M. Saunders and his wife Kristin of Johnson City, New York; three grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, and Jonah; brother Willard Saunders and his wife Sharon; sister Diane MacArthur; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his siblings Warren Saunders and Marion Saunders Taylor.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Lakes Region Bible Church, 85 Zion Hill Road, Laconia, NH 03246. Military honors will follow at the church.
