William H. Ladieu, 72
HOOKSETT — William H. Ladieu, 72, of Hooksett, loving husband, father, and friend passed away March 30, 2016, with his family by his side.
Bill was born in Laconia on April 26, 1943, the son of Francis and Mildred (Rogers) Ladieu.
Bill honorably served his country in the Army and achieved the rank of SP4 (Specialist Fourth Class). Bill completed his basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and worked as an automotive maintenance technician while stationed Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany.
After discharge from the service, Bill worked fixing cars at Irwin Motors and later opened Bill's Auto Body. Bill transitioned to Allstate Insurance Company and worked as a claims adjuster for 26 years until his retirement in 1999.
Bill will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Bill loved fishing, camping, and was a fan of NASCAR.
Family members include his wife of 52 years, Janet (Cousins) Ladieu of Hooksett; his son, Scott Ladieu and wife Martha of Hooksett; his daughters, Cheryl Kalns of Manchester, and Susan Raymond of Midvale, Utah; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Laura, Alison, and Jake; one great-grandson, Mason; his siblings, John Ladieu and his wife Jaine of Georgia, Eileen Ladieu Sohn and her husband Steve of Newton, Massachusetts, James Ladieu of Laconia, and Richard Ladieu of Utah; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester, will be Thursday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. A graveside committal service and burial with military honors will follow on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Smith Meeting House Cemetery in Gilmanton.
