Victoria Anne Cronin, 72, of Center Harbor, died peacefully in her home on June 20, 2025, after a brief illness.

She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Daniel W. Cronin and Norma Lee Cronin (McGuffin). For 13 years prior to moving to New Hampshire, Victoria worked as a registered nurse at Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, Massachusetts, mostly on the inpatient psychiatric unit Cahill 3, but also in the then-psychiatric emergency service (PES), where she offered compassionate and graceful care to patients with serious mental illness. She also provided clinical guidance and wisdom to countless psychiatry residents and social work trainees. During those years, she lived in the (relative) wilds of Wayland, Massachusetts, and took coursework to obtain her credentials as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She later worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at the NH Hospital, then the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Outside of work, Victoria’s passion was the loving rescue and rehabilitation of animals no one else wanted. She trapped feral cats and would go into shelters asking to adopt the cat who had been there the longest. In Victoria’s care, the cats would gradually settle in and regain trust. Later in life, she expanded her pet family to include dogs as well, with Buck and Trudy as especially faithful companions.

She was very involved in her church and her faith was of the upmost importance to her.

A celebration of life will be held at Heritage Baptist Church in Laconia at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 6.
