PLYMOUTH — Sandra Brett French, 87, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born on Jan. 21, 1939, and was a lifelong New Hampshire resident. She spent many of her years in Bristol where she and her beloved husband, Gordon E. French, built a beautiful life together and raised their family, later moving to Meredith. Sandra and Gordon shared 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2022 ... a love story rooted in devotion, partnership and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon E. French, and her parents, Ernest A. and Muriel Brett of Laconia.
Sandra is survived by her sister, Gail Guertin of Whitinsville, Massachusetts; her daughters, Kelly A. Meier and her husband Gene Meier of Plymouth, and Melissa French Reid and her husband Peter Reid of New Hampton. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jason Meier (Abri Mayberry) and Monica Meier (Tommy Andrews), both of Ashland, as well as Sydney Strang and her husband Zachary Atwell of Meredith. Her legacy also continues through her great-grandchildren, Bailey and Carson Andrews; along with several nieces and nephews.
Sandra graduated from the Concord Hospital School of Nursing in 1959, and went on to dedicate many years of her life caring for others as a registered nurse. Sandra spent a majority of her career working in geriatrics. She worked at McKerley’s Health Care Center and the Taylor Home in Laconia, where she was known for her compassion, strength, and commitment to her patients.
Outside of her career, Sandra found her greatest joy in her family. She loved weekend trips to Freeport, Maine. When home, Sandra enjoyed listening to Elvis, trips to Dairy Queen, and eating many Hershey bars and Russell Stover chocolates. She had a special love for her Dooney & Bourke purses and took pride in always looking put together. She never left the house without her nails perfectly polished, her shoes thoughtfully matched to her handbag, and her lipstick meticulously applied. She also enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and Swarovski crystal, treasures that reflected her appreciation for beauty and detail.
Sandra received wonderful care from Comfort Keepers and Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. She especially enjoyed her time with Amanda from Comfort Keepers. Together they shared many laughs, spent time coloring, baked brownies, and enjoyed chocolate — simple moments that brought her great joy and comfort.
A memorial service will be held on at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
