Ronald A. Reister, 59

FRANKLIN — Ronald Allen Reister, 59, a longtime resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, following a lengthy illness.

Ron was born in Laconia, July 24, 1956, son of Justin "Jut" Reister and Thelma Bundy.

Ron spent his youth and grew up in Franklin, attending schools there and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Following high school, he served in the Marine Corps. Prior to his death he resided for a time in Concord.

Ron worked at the former Polyclad Laminates in Franklin and enjoyed working as a self-employed handy man.

He was known for his interest in automobiles, some very special to Ron. He was often out with family and friends, camping or socializing while watching the Patriots or Red Sox games. His passion was the time spent with his grandson, Caleb, and granddaughter, Taylor.

Ron always reminded family and friends that, he should be remembered as, "A Bad Boy, but Good Man."

He was devastated for a time following the loss of his good friend and sidekick, his dog Rhino.

He was predeceased by his father, Justin Reister and mothers, Thelma Bundy and Elaine Miller; brothers, Richard "Dick" Robinson and Robert J. Plourde. He leaves his sons, Justin R. Reister, little Ronnie Reister and stepson, Justin Murphy; his daughters, Leiah Reister and Summer Secret Reister; grandson, Caleb, and granddaughter Taylor; sisters, Harriet Corbin and husband William, Donna Theriault and husband Bob, Kathy Piruso and husband Pete and Melonie "Melny" (Weeks) Bell and husband Warren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. A celebration of Ron's life will follow at the VFW, Post 1698, Peabody Place in Franklin. Interment with military honors will be held Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

Ron's family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to the CRVNA and Hospice, 30 Pillsbury St. .Concord, NH 03301.
