Richard "Dick" Rowe, 81
TILTON — Richard "Dick" Rowe, 81, of 17 River Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.
He was born on April 15, 1934, in Laconia, the son of Merton and Grace (Foster) Rowe.
Dick served in the Air Force and received a bachelor's degree in economics from New England College and later a bachelor's degree in education from Plymouth State University.
He worked for several companies in earlier years, such as Carpenter & Paterson and Scott & Williams. He taught math and science in the Tilton and Northwood school systems. Dick also worked as a truck driver for Audley Construction.
He was a classic car enthusiast, enjoyed snowmobiling, NASCAR, skiing and working in the woods. Dick was an avid health and fitness buff and a follower of Edgar Cayce's works.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rita (Martin) Rowe of Tilton; his son, Stephen Rowe and his wife Pilar of Happy Valley, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Rowe of East Lansing, Mich., and Hunter Rowe of Happy Valley, Ore.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Charles Rowe; and one sister, Clarice Russell.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, in the family plot at Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
