Peter Russell Henss, 64, of Northfield, passed away on Jan. 18, 2026, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Peter was known for his intelligence, wit, dry sense of humor, and his strong sense of self and family. He took great pride in his work, most recently serving as a territory manager at Tiger Mowers, where he built strong relationships and left behind many colleagues who respected him. Outside of work, Peter enjoyed fishing, attending concerts, relaxing at his camper in Wells, Maine, and spending time with family and friends.

Peter is survived by his wife, Katherine; his children, Brendan Thomas Henss and Bridget Kelly Henss, and their mother, Deidre Conway; his stepchildren, Thomas R. Malone III and his wife Amanda, Robert J. Malone, Lindsey A. Ramirez and her husband Robin, and their son Quinten. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Jane Girouard, and her husband Daniel; his mother, Anne Elizabeth Henss; two nieces, three nephews, as well as numerous extended family members and friends; and his beloved dog, Woody.

Peter was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Scott Henss, and his brother, David Scott Henss.

Peter’s life, like many, was complex, and his presence was deeply felt by those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to gather 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Feb. 2, at Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King St. in Boscawen. To view an online memorial, leave a message of condolence, or for more information, visit csnh.com.
