THORNTON — Paul Edward Purcell, 65, died at his home surrounded by his family on December 17, 2022, following a period of declining health.
Paul was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on December 15, 1957, the son of Raymond and Frances (Neary) Purcell. He was raised in Lowell and attended Lowell schools. He relocated to Ashland in the mid 1980s. He was employed by LW Packard Woolen Mills in Ashland and also worked for many years for Cumberland Farms.
Paul enjoyed sports and playing softball. He followed the Boston sports teams. He also enjoyed scratch tickets and his dog “Jonbo.”
Paul was predeceased by his wife Deborah (Ray) Purcell.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Purcell and wife, Billie Jo of Thornton; daughters, Brandy and husband Chris Hickey of Campton, Sara Purcell and Kelly Latuch of Holderness, and Amanda Purcell of Alexandria; many brothers, sisters and grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Ave. in Ashland on Tuesday, December 27, from 5 to 7 p.m.
