Paul Eugene Fuchs, age 87, from Moultonborough, passed away on March 31, 2024.
Paul was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents Eric and Arline Fuchs. He grew up in the town of Dedham, Massachusetts, with his parents and siblings, Leonard and Marilyn, and later moved to New Hampshire. Paul and his siblings joined his father’s business, Eric Fuchs Hobbies, which opened in 1945 and was originally a brick-and-mortar model railroad store, later expanded to include model airplanes, telescopes, and many other hobbies. Eric Fuchs Hobbies was known as a famous landmark on Tremont Street in Boston, which later opened at many other locations.Â
Some years later after he left Eric Fuchs Hobbies, Paul drove a school bus for a number of years before retiring.
Paul is survived by his wife Nancy, son Steven Fuchs and wife Anita, daughter Carolyn Gentile and husband Doug, granddaughter Allison Converse and husband Nick, grandson Nicholas Gagliardi and wife Elena. Paul was also very proud to be a Great Grandpa to Luca Converse and Lorenzo Paul Gagliardi.
Paul and Nancy have been married for 61 years, and were just as much in love now as they were when they first met. Paul loved to be active right up until he tragically passed. His favorite place was Lake Winnipesaukee. He was even a big part of the waterski club in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He had a love for the outdoors. He loved to golf, boat, ski, read books and spend time with family and friends. Paul loved to enjoy the company of the birds outside his home, and even had chipmunks come up and grab peanuts out of his hand. Paul is loved by so many, and will be greatly missed.
Donations can be made to the National Audubon Society to honor Paul at audubon.org.
There will be a celebration of life at a later time.
