Mary Susan Thomas, born in South Berwick, Maine, on July 24, 1938, to Lena (Doane) and William James Thomas, died in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, June 7, 2025, at 86 years old.
Mary was raised in Rollinsford, attended St. Mary Academy in Dover, and graduated high school in Laconia, in 1956. Mary completed the Laconia Hospital School of X-ray Technicians program in 1957, and was certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in 1958. She spent her career in radiology technology in hospitals and clinics in Boston and New York City. She served as president for the local NY ARRT chapter.
She loved reading, especially history and mysteries. She liked to travel and loved her family. Mary was especially proud of serving in the U.S. Air Force Ground Observer Corps.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Lena and William; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Carole (Murphy) Thomas. She is survived by niece Kathleen (Thomas) and Joseph Berlin, niece Janet (Thomas) and Thomas McEnanly, nephew Sean Thomas, great-nieces and nephews Erin, Caroline, Rory, Daniel and William.
There is a time of visiting before a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rollinsford, at 9 a.m., on Saturday, June 28, followed by an interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rollinsford.
