OKEECHOBEE, Florida — Leo George Schofield, 79, of SW 21st St., died on Thursday, June 29, at Concord Hospital-Laconia.
Leo was born on April 25, 1944, in Taunton, Massachusetts, the son of the late Ralph Schofield and Anges (Yates) Schofield.
Leo worked as a Ford mechanic for Peterson Ford in Lynn, Massachusetts and at Merrimack Lincoln Mercury. He proudly served the country in the U.S. Army National Guard. In his earlier years, he was an artist who loved oil painting. Leo was an avid coin collector, enjoyed metal detecting with his lifelong friend, Mike Rosa, and was a member of the Okeechobee Republican Party.
Leo is survived by his wife Marjorie L. Kelley; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, adopted children and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Leo is also survived by his brother, Robert Schofield, of Maine, and his sisters, Ann Levesseur of Florida, Lorraine Cornetta, of Maine, and Joyce "Pat" Nelson of Massachusetts.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH 03246.
