Jonathan Devries-Ulm, 21

PLYMOUTH — Jonathan Devries-Ulm passed away suddenly on Friday, May 6, at his home in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, from natural causes at the very young age of 21.

Jonathan was born in Rochester on May 31, 1994, and spent much of his youth residing in Moultonborough, where he attended both Moultonborough Central School and Moultonborough Academy. Jon became a member of the Becket Family of Services in 2011, where he lived in Plymouth, and graduated from Mt. Prospect Academy. In June 2015, he moved to Bethlehem, where he continued to be a member of the Becket Family.

Jon loved the great outdoors and enjoyed spending time observing wildlife, swimming and hiking. He especially took great joy in fishing and gardening and truly enjoyed the brilliant colors of nature. He was a creative artist always working with brilliant colors reflecting his love of nature. Jon loved to cook meals and bake desserts, play Magic cards, and sing. He enjoyed volunteering at the Beckett Hall Farm in Pike, as well as at the local food pantry and thrift store.

Jon leaves behind many friends, supporters and family members who helped him navigate his pathway through life. He was always appreciative of the guidance, counseling and friendship he received from everyone who touched his life through the Moultonborough School District; Becket Family of Services; New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth and Families; and Northern Human Services. The many caring individuals who guided, lived and worked with Jon over the past five years will most definitely miss his smiling face, great sense of humor and tall tales.

Jon's loving guardians, Kate and Mike Lancor of Moultonborough, as well as Jessica and Rob Stephens and their children, Eli and Gracie of Meredith, invite all of Jon's family members and friends to attend a special memorial service to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, at the Plymouth United Methodist Church at 334 Fairgrounds Road in Plymouth. The Rev. Ed Charest will lead the "Service of Light" to celebrate Jon's life. Music and singing will be provided and led by Ashley Nickerson Pouliot and Jacob Heal. A reception will be held downstairs in the church immediately following the service.
