LACONIA — Joanne E. Slade, 75, died Jan. 4, 2025, at Concord Hospital-Laconia.
She was born in Plymouth as one of three children of Cedric and Lena (Heath) Hickey. Joanne grew up in Ashland and was a graduate of Ashland High School. She has been a resident of Laconia since the early 1970s.
Joanne held a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and horses. She was an avid horseback rider. She also enjoyed cooking and online shopping.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Rachael) Poitras and Mike (Michelle) Merrill; seven grandchildren, Marissa, Mykyle, Kyra, Landon, Erin, Maitlend, and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Jayce and Aaliyah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Merrill, brother Ken Hickey and sister Sandra Sapier.
There are no calling hours.
Service details are not complete at this time, but will be held later this spring.
