TILTON-Howard A. Cilley, Jr. of Pine Hill Road, died Saturday June 21, 2008 at Lakes Region General Hospital. He was born in Portsmouth, the son of Howard and Valerie (Bighley) Cilley Sr. Howard was raised in Tilton and was graduated from Winnisquam High School in 1973. He went on to serve in the US Army and later the US Army National Guard. He later earned his LPN certificate and had most recently worked at the Merrimack County Nursing Home.

In his free time Howard loved to golf as well as to play poker, especially Texas Hold’em. Howard also enjoyed music and had played guitar with local bands. He was a member of the American Legion Sons of Liberty.

Family members include his parents of Tilton; one sister: Rosanne E. Cilley of Tilton; two brothers: Raymond C. “Razer” Cilley and partner Christine of Livermore, Maine; and Douglas W. Cilley and wife Em who are currently stationed in Korea; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-4688, the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247-0572, or any Veteran’s Organization.
