LACONIA — Daniel Michael Whitty, 57, of Ivy Court, passed away on Oct. 1, 2025, at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. Daniel fought this battle with courage, dignity and grace.

Daniel was born on Sept. 6, 1968, in Bethel, Alaska, the son of Arthur and Lucie (Orme) Whitty, and grew up in Hollis.

Daniel enjoyed all sports with his favorite teams the Red Sox and the Bruins. He was a volunteer firefighter with Laconia Fire Department, Belmont and Winnisquam fire departments, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Daniel cherished his Native American heritage. He enjoyed drumming and playing his guitar. Daniel worked at First Student as a bus driver and armored car services for many years.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Marie (Dionne) Whitty; son Cameron Whitty; daughter Isabella Whitty; and sisters Heidi Chase and her husband Cliff and Naomi Whitty and her husband Eli Kramer. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Kristina Whitty.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, at St. Andre Bessette Parish at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street.
