Alice G. (Roy) Thompson, age 82, of Swansea, Massachusetts, formerly of New Hampshire, passed away Sept. 11, 2026, at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ronald W. Thompson.
Born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Germaine (Dionne) Roy. Alice grew up in The Grove, in Swansea, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary High School, class of 1962.
She and Ron moved to New Hampshire, in 1975, where they settled in Northfield. She went on to work as a secretary at the former Tilton Endless Belt in Tilton, and then AmeriGas in Laconia, prior to retirement. After retirement, she spent time working at the Hobo Railroad in Meredith. An avid reader, she enjoyed doing puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Wendy Brennan and her husband Scott of Lakeville, Massachusetts, and Cheryl Maynes and her husband Nicholas of Brooksville, Florida; five grandchildren, Erik Kenneson and his fiancée Ashleigh Olson of Claremont, Kevin Kenneson and his wife Gracie of Effingham, Kiley Thompson and her fiancé Nick Grevior of Franklin, Tyler Brennan of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Sean Brennan and his wife Hope of Taunton, Massachusetts; eight great-grandchildren, Aiden, Brooklynn, Ainsley, Alice, Rosalie, Thomas, Shane and Stella; one sister, Constance Sampson and her husband Robert of Swansea, Massachusetts; two brothers, Leo Roy of Swansea and Brian Roy and his wife Darlene of Northfield; her niece and nephews.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, Massachusetts. Visitation will be held prior to her service from 10 to 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
Burial will take place at a later date in Boscawen.
